At first I wasn't quite sure how I was going to feel about this book because it's not about Dean and Sky after I became so connected to them in Hopeless and Losing Hope so I was a bit weary. But I am so happy that I did start the book and finished it because I just fell in love with Daniel. While we only got a glimpse of him through Dean's perspective it was nice to see what he was really all about. I loved how he was so blunt and how he had such a soft interior. This book has changed a part of my heart for the best but I don't think this is how the Hopeless books end. I need more answers of Daniel and Six.
Daniel - I thought that he was a total brat when we really met him in Losing Hope and I am just so happy that it's not the case. There was such an amazing person underneath all the blunt and crude comments and jokes that he would make. It was the best to see who he really was. Once Daniel met Six it was the best thing just because you could tell that he was truly happy even though everything happened so quickly. I loved how Cinderella was mentioned in Losing Hope and that we have an answer in this wonderful novella. He has the biggest heart and it was amazing to see him feel such emotion at the end I was not expecting that ending and I just love how everything worked out, honestly, it was the best ending to a tragic situation.
Six - we all met Six in Hopeless as Sky's best friend and she is so adorable I thought that she was funny and was good for Sky because she was so blunt and honest and it was wonderful. She never wanted her best friend to feel out of the loop and you would have never thought that Six was going through such horrible things while she was in Italy, just because of the beautiful text messages that she was continuing to text Sky while she was away. That in itself shows what a caring person Six is regardless of what happened to her while she was away in Italy.
I don't want to give too much away from the novella, but it's just so hard not too. So, I should end my review here, before I scream at the rooftops what happened during this book. I just did not expect it to take the turn that it did, and I truly believe that the correct decision was made for them - especially because they did not know what the other one looked like, and that they had no clue about each other and what was going on after they hooked up in the janitors closet. I hope that Colleen actually continues at least one more story about Daniel and Six just because it would be amazing to see what happens and how their relationship evolves after being able to overcome such an obstacle that Six thought that she had to go through alone. That she never has to be alone about that, ever again.
