An Abundance of Katherines: Book Review
When I started this novel I thought that I was going to be hooked and that I was going to love everything about it, all because I had read John Green's A Fault In Our Stars and just let me say, you cannot judge an author off of one book. Because this one was not around the same rating. This novel was miserable, I have to rate it like a 3 stars, maybe even a two and a half because it took me about two months to be able to finish when it should've taken me a maximum of like a week. Especially because there is no plot to the story, the characters aren't amazing, I have to say that near the end of the book I finally started to like where it was headed, but by that time I had already spent so much time hating the book that it's hard for me to think any other opinion of it. The characters just weren't relate-able, Colin Singleton was just way too much of a cry-baby for me to even like to follow his poor little lonesome life. Honestly, after reading this book I am so scared to pick up another John Green book, such as Paper Towns or Looking For Alaska which were also books that I had been looking forward to. But An Abundance of Katherines (AAOK) did not live up to the hype that I was expecting and as bad as this sounds, I do not recommend this book to anyone, because I didn't like it. Therefore I am not going to suggest it to anyone, check out more reviews whether it be online or on Goodreads and see what you read and see if you like how this book sounds to you. Because I wish I would've done that before I picked it up - and then I would have saved some money and a lot of my time. But you win some and you lose some. And this one I lost with...
