I am always up for a good thriller, and it's even better when you're able to connect with a character, but for me DiSemblance was not one of those books. Although, I loved the story-line and I felt like it had some great ideas, it just felt as though it was a forced read. It was dry in the beginning, and I tended to often be confused - and would have to re-read certain areas, but other than that I enjoyed it. The concept was great and I feel as though Shanae could have done a lot more with it - but I know that doesn't mean that the second book isn't going to be more and better than the first.

When it comes to the characters, I felt as though Jason was a little more naive and juvenile than he should have been. Being as old as he was - and being the responsible child, having to make sure that his father's bills were paid on time, and check bank accounts. I feel like there should have been more to him, than just a little boy who was scared to disobey his father. I understand the idea of the hologram machine, and not wanting publicity, but I feel as though a huge machine you can't really hide in the comfort of your home.

Then there is Boston, I am really sure that she was my favorite out of the book - she was such a strong and independent character who was really good as standing her own ground and being sure that what she wanted she got. She had to teach herself how to trust someone, which happened to be Jason in the story. I loved how everything that happened to her, only seemed to make her stronger throughout the book.

Bruce, he was a vital character and I really liked him, but I feel as though most of the story he was too overwhelmed with his marriage to Lisa to really be able to focus, although he did a great job at finding out who the Comfort Killer was...

Overall this book was really good, but it wasn't 100% my style, but I really did enjoy it. It was really good, and overall I feel like the writing style was okay, just a little forced - but still manageable to want to keep turning pages... I do suggest this book if you love thrillers - and sci-fi fiction!
