Now, this I would have to say was not the best for Claire Chilton, I have been able to read the whole rest of The Outliers series, and I am sad to say that I was not too fond of this prequel novella for this series. Why? Because, I know that it's the beginning for Rhecknaws in the series, but I don't understand what is so important about Destiny and Karin - as well as what Arietta and Tirik have to do with the story of Carla and her friends, I am sure that there is a reason that this book was written and part of this series, I just don't know what the match up is to the series.

I would have to say that although it's just a short-story I would be able to relate to Arietta the best, not because it's all good and believes in family and doing the right thing. But I would just have to say that it's how much she wants love - but is willing to put that aside for herself, makes me feel as though people can relate to her a little more than the others. That's just my opinion though, and you're more than welcome to be able to love Tirik if that's the kind of thing that you're into and what not.

And then last but not least, although it's just a short-story I'm just not 100% about how this ties into Detention and the books of the series. For me, the ending just didn't end how I thought it would. It did not teach me anything new that I did not from The Outliers series, so therefore I almost feel as though it was a waste of a read. Which is not fair, but I love Claire Chilton's work - but for me I feel as though this short novella was just a flop.

The only way that I would recommend this book, is if you love Claire Chilton's work or if you've been reading The Outliers series because although I feel as though it's been a waste of some time, and I don't know how it fits into the story, I am sure that if/when Claire writes another short-story that fills in the pieces, that the whole thing will come together. Just right now, at this moment in time, I don't get how Arietta or Tirik fall into what's so important about Carla, and Isabella.

** I did receive an e-copy of this book free from Claire Chilton, this is no way affects my rating or the review.

I don't currently have any recommendations similar...
