So, I was supposed to write this review a little while ago - but between work and my son I haven't had a moment to stop and write my review. Well, this is one of those books that I saw the cover and I had to order it, I absolutely love the art design and that's what made me want to read it. It was one of those cover buys, anyways onto the actual story of Shatter Me I wouldn't say that it was a bad, I actually really enjoyed it. I do feel as though I didn't get much clarification throughout the novel. But I cannot say that I didn't love it. I loved the concept of the whole story, and I loved how descriptive Tahereh is, when she is writing and showing me a world that I have no idea about.
Juliette - I wasn't exactly thrilled with her at first, I thought that she was literally insane, and that she didn't have any powers or anything, just scared of people touching her due to everything that went on in her life. And then given when Adam becomes her cellmate, and she was just too scared to talk to him, although she hadn't spoken actual words in about 200 days is a little insane to me. Maybe that's because I can't stop talking for more than an hour, maybe. I don't have that kind of willpower. Anyways, I feel as though Juliette is a strong willed woman and I really like who she became throughout the story.
Adam, I just fell in love with Adam the minute that he was introduced into the story, but I even began to become weary of him, when Warner decided to say something to Juliette, and I know that I shouldn't have listened or changed my thoughts, I actually feel ashamed about that. But I love how much he cares about Juliette, and what a great man he happens to be so far. He is caring - and he is such a great big brother and you get to see a few different sides of him which is amazing.
Then last but not least, there is Warner, I cannot stand him, or anything. Everything he does is not for the better of the world, and I cannot stand the way that he treats his soldiers or Juliette. There are so many things wrong with Warner, that I cannot believe that I actually believed him when he said those terrible things about Adam. I'm still in shock about it. I hope that Warner gets what's coming to him in the following books, that I haven't read yet.
There is so much I loved about this book, I loved the concept, but I just wish that there was more clarification about what is going on in the world, and why. Because there are things that I am still confused about, but I hope that once I purchase Ignite Me and Unite Me that I will get some more clarification about Juliette and everything that is going on. But I would have to give this novel a solid four stars, I loved it!
